About

Howdy!

I’m Zack, and I build cool shit (or at least I like to think so).

Growing up I always wanted to get into costuming, but never took the time to take any theater or workshop classes, and eventually decided to jump in head first in 2013 with a S.T.A.L.K.E.R. cosplay at PAX West. While it was kind of generic, it was exhilarating to step into someone else’s skin for even a few days. A passion was born. Since then, I’ve done a few other costumes and regularly attend Emerald City Comic Con (ECCC) along with PAX West.

It wasn’t long before I discovered 3D printing as a cool NEW way to make excellent props that I normally wouldn’t have been capable of making myself. Starting with my first 3d printer – a Printrbot Simple Metal – in 2014, I taught myself the skills necessary to assemble and maintain these awesome machines, and eventually how to use cool slicing and modeling software and make my own props. These days I run a highly modified Rostock MAX V3/3.2, but when I’m in a pinch I won’t hesitate to break the ole’ Simple Metal out to meet a deadline.

It also didn’t take long for me to branch out into other endeavors, such as designing mounts for commercial camera systems, furniture for weapon ergonomics (some based off my own props!), and assisting established manufacturing companies with their prototype process. It’s been an amazing journey, and I wanted to set up a website to share my story with you! I appreciate you taking the time to see what I’m all about!

I do commission work from time to time, if you have a cool project you’d like some help on, please feel free to reach out to me at:
